Get Involved.

We are a completely volunteer-driven organization who is always looking for committed and reliable people who are passionate about helping us achieve our mission. Following are some of the ways you can get involved. If any of these activities excite you, please fill out the contact form to the right.

Humanely trap

We trap 365 days a year all over the island, and we check traps at all hours of the day and night. If you do not mind volunteering outside of the hours of 9am to 5pm, you are comfortable walking a few yards into the brush, and you get over the moon excited at the prospect of being on the front line of rescuing, please reach out to us about joining our trapping team. We need volunteers from all regions of the island.

Maintain a feeder

We have feeders scattered all over the island to offer support to community cats year round. These feeders also become known by the area cats as a place to come get food and the feeders give us an important insight into the cat population in the area and who may need to be spayed or neutered. These feeders need regular food and water refreshes and camera checks to see who has come to visit. Let us know if you might be interested in maintaining a feeder on or near your property or along one of your regular routes..

Call us if you see a kitten or a feral

Our core group of volunteers only have a limited set of eyes and ears. It would be a huge help to us if you would keep your eyes open as you move around the island. If you see a kitten or a cat who does not have an ear tip (universal sign that the cat has been spayed or neutered), and/or a cat who looks sick, malnutritioned or disabled, please contact us immediately at (508) 901-3882. Please be ready to offer as accurate of location as possible.

Donate food and supplies

Cattrap is always in need of food! If you would like to donate unopened canned and dry food of any kind, it can be dropped off at Offshore Animal Hospital or Island Treasures. Gift cards from Geronimo’s, Stop & Shop, Amazon and Chewy’s are also greatly appreciated. If you have more specific questions or additional items you think we might like, please fill at the contact form and we will get back to you.
